19 weeks.....Its a !!!!

It was a short stressful week for me as I got a new student with some behavior issues and afterschool tutorials started making my work day go from 6:30-4:30 plus an hour drive home.  Yuck.  This baby has started kicking up a storm and literally wakes me up during late night stomach boxing sessions.

This pregnancy has been so different than the others that we all thought maybe it might be a different gender. As much as Dale and I were hoping for a girl, I sensed that this one might be another boy. I had even told my aunt when I found out I was pregnant that it was going to be another boy.  So when the ultrasound tech announced that this little bean was indeed a BOY, I wasn't surprised.  We both shed a tear and said goodbye to the notion of having a girl but smiled at the thought of another energetic boy joining our family. Clark and Kannon were both so excited to have a little brother---Clark told the tech he was naming "his" baby Michael Jackson Thomas.   Lol! On the way home, Clark and Kannon were both chanting in the back seat, "we're having a brother, we're having a brother!".

Everyone has started asking us "are you disappointed? Will you try again? Will you have more?"  Please, people, stop with the stupid questions. We have always wanted 3-4 kids but that would mean getting rid of my Subaru (KIDDING!)  and we weren't trying for a girl--we knew we had a 50/50 chance of producing either.  We were trying for a healthy baby!  Yes, it would have been wonderful to experience raising a daughter but I am delighted that I get to add another boy to our family.   Dale is a little sad that he won't have a future little Daddy's girl or those father-daughter moments. But, we have the honor of raising sensitive, strong boys who will hopefully know how to cook, clean, and love their future partners.  Kannon and Clark will have another boy to share their toys with and teach silly fart jokes. I will always be the queen of this house spoiled by all my men! I do worry about how to feed 3 future teenage boys, so we may have to buy a farm or a pizza place.  I also know that my toilets will never be clean but that's why I will make them clean the bathrooms!

This baby is perfect and healthy.  I cried when we first saw the guy flickering on the screen.  He was sucking his thumb, using my placenta as a pillow, and had his feet crossed at the ankles.  Already at almost 20 week, you could see his perfect little body, chin, lips, and cute little ears.  We have a name picked out for this guy but per our tradition, we won't share the name until birth!
