28 weeks and some news!

This week was a rough one!  I brought a cold back from California and had so many things going on at work.  I had a training Tuesday, Wednesday, and Math Science Night on Thursday.  This morning, I woke up and could barely move, breathe, or talk so I stayed home.  After 14 hours of sleep and lots of water, I feel a little better but not great! It seems like I have been sick every other week this pregnancy! Working with kids is not helpful!
I also have some news that I have known for a few weeks but was waiting until it was official to make it public. I accepted a 2nd Grade Reading and Writing position at my neighborhood school.  It is a dream job!!! The school is where Kannon will attend Kindergarten and is 1/2 a mile from our house.  It is a music fine arts school and has an amazing staff of dedicated and positive educators.  It was a very intense interview process and I am so blessed to have been given this incredible opportunity! This means no more 2 hour commute (it takes 3 minutes now!), no more planning for all subjects, I get to focus on what I love-teaching reading and writing, and I will be in a school that has the same vision as me.  My principal was quite sad to hear my news but she knew it was something I was considering, especially since we have another baby on the way.  I have met the 2nd grade team in the new school and they are fantastic! I am so excited to work with them this Fall!

27 Weeks

This week was busy for us!!! We have been on Spring Break and staying BUSY!!!

On Saturday, we went to Columbus, TX to visit my mom. We had a great time hiking along the Colorado River and swimming at her hotel swimming pool.

On Sunday, we went the zoo and the boys had a blast in the aquarium area looking for all the critters they have seen on Octonauts.

Monday, we packed and did last minute shopping for our trip to CA. I needed a suitcase--I don't recommend buying one during Spring Break, the day before your trip.

Tuesday, I had my glucose test and midwife appointment before flying out. I passed my glucose, although I am a little low on iron which explains why I have been craving beans and cereal. Baby sounded great and is still measuring big!

We flew out Tuesday afternoon to Long Beach, CA. The boys did great on the plane. Clark was a little impatient and told everyone he was tired of being on the plane for "39 days". Lol.

Wednesday, we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific with my grandparents and the boys got to touch sharks. They were so excited!!! They also loved the leafy sea dragons and otters.

Thursday, I went to my aunts classroom for a few hours and got to see how she does her reading block. Our classes are penpals and it was fun meeting some of the kids my students have been writing to! I also met my friend, Lauren, for lunch. We had a delicious lunch at Open Sesame (one of my favorites!) and took the kids to the beach.
Lauren and I, due a month apart!

Friday, we took the train to San Diego. It was the first real train ride for the kids and Kannon was in awe. It was a gorgeous ride--you could see dolphins from the train! Kannon told the conductor that he wants to be a steam engineer when he grows up so he can drive the Polar Express. Swoon.
Isn't that view from the train window lovely?

Saturday, I headed to my friend's baby shower. Lauren is due with a girl in July. This is the first time I have had a friend pregnant and it has been wonderful to be pregnant at the same time! We spend a lot of time on the phone :)

Sunday, we had breakfast at the Yacht Club with my grandparents, aunt, cousin, my brother and his friends. It was so great spending the week with family!!! Although, I didn't get nearly enough sleep and I caught a nasty cold :(

We finally got home Sunday night at 1am and had fours of sleep before going back to work Monday! We are all exhausted!!! Hopefully, I will upload more photos from our trip soon!

I finally got a hair cut!  It feels so much better!!

26 Weeks

SPRING BREAK!!!!! We made it to Spring Break and I couldn't be more excited to have a week off my feet and the demands of my classroom!  Monday, we overslept and woke up at 6:25am---the time we usually leave for work!!!  Fortunately, there was no traffic and we made it school on time!  But it pretty much set the tone for the week!  Clark got sick on Wednesday and stayed home Thursday and Friday with a fever and cough.  I was happy to stay home with him on Wednesday and cuddle him!

This week I started the Hypnobabies course.  I am really excited about using this for pain management during labor because of the positive affirmations and soothing music and hypnosis technique.  I practice right before bed and I usually fall right asleep and forget all about my hip pain.

I have my glucose test and midwife appointment on Tuesday.  Tuesday afternoon we fly to California!  I am so excited to see my aunt and grandparents and smell the ocean air!!!  We already have a full schedule while we are there but hopefully we will relax!

Kannon was Student of the Week!!!

25 Weeks

No news to report.  I am exhausted, cranky, and unable to sleep.  Combined with daylight savings and spring fever in my classroom, I am so TIRED!  I am looking forward to Spring Break in California NEXT WEEK!!!
