The Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse.
And then there was screaming,
and then there was crying,
a baby was fussy
and so was his mommy
I went to the room,
and swaddled my baby
First there was laughter
and then there was thunder
An explosion down under
soaked through a diaper
down to his toes
and through my blue robe
An outfit ruined,
A robe in the trash
A quick shower for two
and that was some gas.
A minute later,
there rose a great clatter
A toddler was waking
with excitement and wonder
He gave a great hug
and then a big kiss
Both kids are now sleeping
and work is to be had
The presents are out,
Cookies for Santa,
Coffee is ready
And fun for the morning.
Life with two kids
isn't so bad.
I crawled into bed
dreaming of 'morrow
ho, ho, ho
merry christmas to all
and to all a good night!
